Steiermark!Bonus
Additional funding for R&D projects – your bonus for being from Styria
Additional funding for R&D Projects — the 40-million bonus for green-and-white developments
Every year, the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) awards grants in the hundreds of millions from its Basic Program to R&D projects. Styrian companies benefit particularly from this. They regularly secure around 25 percent of the available funds. This means that up to 40 million euros of this money goes to Styrian companies. If you’re one of Styria’s innovation-oriented companies and have received a grant approval from the FFG for one of your projects, then sit back and let the SFG increase your loan application by 20 percent (SMEs). That’s our bonus for your innovation!
The SFG does the math for you!
Let’s say you submit a project to one of the FFG’s basic programs. The FFG evaluates your project positively. This means the FFG supports you with funding in the form of a grant of up to 28 percent (non-repayable) and financing in the form of a loan of up to 31 percent (at a fixed interest rate of 2.5 percent in accordance with FFG regulations). At this point, the SFG automatically steps in and increases the SME’s loan by an additional 20 percent.
Step by Step to Your Steiermark!Bonus
- Submit your project to the FFG’s Basic Program via eCall. By doing so, as a Styrian company, you automatically apply for the Steiermark!Bonus as well. For SMEs (micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises with up to 249 employees), there are no topic restrictions.
- The FFG will carefully review your project and evaluate it. If the funding guidelines are met, you will receive from the FFG—depending on the size of your company—
- funding in the form of a grant (approx. 19%–28%, non-repayable) and
- financing in the form of a loan (approx. 22%–31%, fixed interest rate of 2.5% in accordance with FFG regulations).
