DESCRIPTION;CHARSET=UTF-8:Webinar 1: Unterstanding the Investor Landscape\n
Across Europe\, research teams and innovators are developing promising for
est-based and biobased solutions with strong potential for environmental a
nd economic impact. Yet many early-stage innovations struggle to progress
beyond the laboratory\, often due to limited familiarity with investor exp
ectations\, early market validation\, or how to communicate their value ef
fectively.\n\nTo help address these barriers\, the Bioregions Facility o
f the European Forest Institute is launching a three‑part Investment R
eadiness Webinar Series\, designed to give innovation teams a clear and
practical introduction to early-stage investment.\nEach session is del
ivered by META Group\, a European leader in research commercialisati
on and innovation finance.\nThese webinars are designed to be interactiv
e\, with dedicated time for questions and open discussion. Participants ar
e welcome to share their own challenges and experiences so the sessi
ons can be as relevant and practical as possible.\nWebinar 1: Understandin
g the Investor Landscape\nThis first webinar offers a clear and st
ructured overview of the different types of investors active in early-
stage innovation and what sets them apart. This is done by exploring t
heir incentives and drivers.\nBy understanding the context in which in
vestors operate\, participants gain a sharper view of how each type
of investor differs\, from individual business angels to different forms o
 f venture capital\, including corporate\, government-backed\, traditional\
, and impact-oriented funds.\nThe webinar also touches on how family off
ices approach investment decisions\, when debt financing may be an option
for young companies\, and how tools like equity crowdfunding fit into the
broader funding picture.\nThis session helps participants understand who
the key investor groups are\, how they differ\, and which types may f
 it their stage and technology.\n
