Strategic Guideline Regions and Infrastructure
The strategic guideline “regions, infrastructure” is responsible for creating an internationally competitive region Styria, which is standing out by a high quota of technology-oriented, fast growing and strong economic regional initiatives. This is achieved by three strategic fields of the strategic guideline “Regions, Infrastructure”: by the regional economic development, the infrastructure development and the networks and entrepreneurial development.
The tasks are manifold. In the field of the regional economic development the classical promotion structure stands in the center point: Consultation, project analysis, coordination with other promotion offices, up to further supervision of supported impulse centers. The regional balance, with concentration on a close cooperation with the responsible offices, serves as information, control and motivation element.
The administration of the SFG-Impulse Centers is subject to the field “Infrastructure Development”, as well as the further development of the impulse centers into a regional junction. Additionally, the centers are playing a key role. This is implemented by leaser, center and quality efforts.
Through the SFG-Centers, technology, start-ups and economic parks, the SFG especially supports technology-oriented start-up and growth enterprises in the regions. These centers create an innovative economic surrounding which exceeds by far the traditional real estate supply. The regional concentration of many innovative enterprises in the Centers with thematic setting of priorities, are leading to positive synergy and motivation effects. As a bridge between economy and science, impulse centers contribute considerably to a functioning technology transfer. Cooperation among enterprises in the Centers, as well as with regional companies and education, as well as research and development establishments stimulate the development of new products, services and procedures, whereby new jobs are being created.
