Internationally and nationally the formation of clusters – besides other intervention forms - has proved as an important economical and technologic-political instrument, and as a robust political concept.
Besides a further professional push, the 2nd phase of the cluster policy will now be started. Thereby a specific differentiation of the performance portfolio is taking center stage – based on a medium and long term positioning of the individual cluster.
Guide orientations thereby are:
- Safeguarding of a long term location success by active forming of the supply and targeted development of emergent technologies and themes
- Synchronization of strategies of the cluster landscape with the regional knowledge base.
- Further support of cluster and network organizations as instruments for the promotion of power fields.
Focuses regarding content are:
- Further development of young clusters and networks, as well as the extension of power fields.
- Continuing further supervision of existing clusters and networks, and support in (re-) positioning phases.
- Analysis of networks for service oriented businesses and cross section themes.
- Support of the internationalization efforts and synchronization with the ICS Internationalization Center Styria LLC.
- Promotion of inter-regional and international clusters and networks.
- Innovation-technology and knowledge transfer as an integrated part.
- Evaluation of existing, and development of new power fields.
